In the village where I was born the oak forest are full of wild roses and in the early summer the air is heavy from their fragrance. When I went on my first bushwalk in Australia I was admiring the tree ferns that grows on the forest floor. Suddenly a lyrebird came walking close to me and looked me directly in the eyes, it felt like a silent invitation into Australian nature and culture.
